A bit of our history

TAYGRA is a trademark registered with INPI that has existed since 1989.

Founded in 1989 by a talented artisan from Minas Gerais, Marquinhos, it gradually developed in the backyard and through indoor soccer. It experienced relative expansion through resellers and door-to-door sales, in local markets, and gradually entered tourist shops and academies, dojos, and opened its own stores after 2000.

With the growth of the brand, it began to be exported and TAYGRA franchises were opened in European countries in 2006, including France, where the company Tropic Concept centralized European distribution and invested in developing new models with an ethic of fair and sustainable trade.

At the end of 2008, Tropic Concept, the international representative of TAYGRA outside of Brazil, added an environmentally friendly approach by using alternative materials in production, such as Amazonian vegetable leather, naturally dyed cotton from Paraíba, and launched the largest solidarity reforestation plan, Curupira. Several franchises were opened in Europe and in the Caribbean islands.

In 2011, the companies merged and TAYGRA opened a physical store and headquarters in Brazil in Caraguatatuba / SP, and began to develop various projects with recycled truck tarps. After opening other stores in Brazil, it moved to the city of Paraty, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, where it is located to this day, with the TAYGRA store located at the entrance to the historic center of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today, TAYGRA has become the favorite of dancers in Brazil and around the world, as they have adopted the brand's shoes for their great comfort, flexibility, and variety of colors. But the products also appeal to adventurers who enjoy hiking, motorcyclists, farmers, city dwellers, athletes of various specialties, to all lovers of original and sustainable products, exclusive and handmade, which the TAYGRA brand offers in the market.
